🚇 Joint Enforcement Activity at Brixton Underground Station 🚇
Over two days of targeted enforcement activity at Brixton Underground Station, local policing teams worked alongside specialist officers and transport partners to tackle criminality affecting Brixton and the wider Lambeth area. The operations used a combination of uniformed and plain-clothes officers to identify, disrupt and arrest individuals travelling through the transport network who were suspected of involvement in offences including robbery, weapon possession, drug offences, handling stolen property and wanted persons offences. The results speak for themselves: ✅ 109 stops conducted
A key finding from the operation was that 66% of those arrested were not residents of Lambeth, highlighting how offenders are using London's transport network to travel into the borough from elsewhere across the capital to commit crime and anti-social behaviour.
Those arrested were linked to a range of offences, including possession of offensive weapons, robbery, drug offences, handling stolen goods, fraud-related offences, breaches of court orders and recall to prison. These deployments demonstrate the value of intelligence-led policing and partnership working in identifying offenders, disrupting criminal activity and making Brixton safer for residents, businesses and those who visit the area. We will continue working closely with our transport and policing partners to target those who travel into Lambeth to offend and to ensure Brixton remains a safe place to live, work and visit. Anyone with information about crime or anti-social behaviour in the area is encouraged to report it to police. Community information remains vital in helping us identify offenders and direct resources where they are needed most. | ||
